We're pleased to share some exciting news about a new fundraising program for our organization. It's called "scrip", and it's the fundraising program that works while you shop. The Scrip progam is an easy and fun way in which you can help the Center by buying the things you already buy. Money and order to us each month by the 25th. Cards in by the 6th of the next month.

Scrip Information
Scrip is simply a word that means "substitute money" - in other words, scrip is gift certificates (cards) from national and local retailers. They're the same gift certificates (cards) that you buy at the store. Many popular retailers participate in our scrip program including J C Penney, The Gap, Shell, Pizza Hut, Red Lobster and many, many others.
You're probably asking yourself how these stores help us raise money. It's simple -- scrip participating retailers agree to sell gift certificates (cards) to our organization at a discount. Member families like yours buy the certificates for full face value, they redeem them for full face value, and our school keeps the difference as revenue. And scrip is exciting, because everybody wins:
The beauty of scrip is that you put your regular household shopping dollars to work. You earn money for Owego Gymnastics without spending a single additional penny. Just spend your regular shopping dollars with scrip at the stores that participate in the scrip program! And scrip can be used for just about any household purchase including food, clothing, entertainment, gasoline and even dining out.
How does scrip work?
"How many of you spend at least $75 a week on groceries?"
"How many of you spend $50 a month on clothing?"
"How many of you spend $25 a week on gasoline?"
"How many of you spend $50 a month dining out?
Let's take the above as an average for a family
Food $75/week x 4 = $300/month
Clothing $ 50/month
Gas $25/week x 4 = $100/month
Dining out $ 50/month
Total $500/month x 12 months = $6000/year
The average portion of each scrip purchase that Owego Gymnastics will earn is 5% on every purchase. So, an average family, using these modest spending levels, would earn $300 each year for Owego Gymnastics. A family that works at the program by focusing their spending on scrip participating retailers can earn much more! This is an easy way to help the Center without having to buy anything you wouldn't be buying.
Each month the Center will be placing an order for scrip from GLscrip. If you would like to order any scrip please fill out a Family Order form and turn the form and your payment (one check or cash) by the 25th of each month to ensure delivery by the 6th of the next month. With a little planning you can use scrip for many of the purchases you make each month.
You may go to the Great Lakes Scrip site www.glscrip.com. Our organization is enrolled in a www.shopwithscrip.com scrip program. Your non-profit's enrollment code, used by your participating families for registration, is: FCA2E4F316599. The shop with scrip program allows you to go online and fill out your form electronically, print the form with everything filled out and then turn in with payment to the Center.
